Remember This Moment

This morning I was driving to work sipping my iced coffee (guilty pleasure), reflecting on my morning & the day to come...
I do this nearly every morning.
The morning commute relaxes me because it gives me "Sami Time"
Time to reflect, think, predict, sing Taylor Swift like a crazy person...

While driving the song Long Live by Taylor Swift came on.

The first lyrics struck me:

I said remember this moment, in the back of my mind

It made me think of this morning: J and I being whinny and silly.
It made me think of this summer: Loss, Love, Wedding Planning, Family Time.

Later in the song she says:

I said, Remember this feeling

It made me think of all the crazy wedding planning and how it makes my heart feel so happy because it means spending time with my family and starting a new life.

It made me think of the feeling I have in my gut about Student Teaching starting in a few weeks: The nerves, the excitement.

I want to remember it all.

Because life is good.. easy.. dare I say even a little stress-less.

I want to remember these moments and feelings so when we eventually wake up to a screaming baby or I have a bad day in my classroom I can put things into perspective.

I have got to experience a lot in my life and I am truly blessed.

Happy Friday everyone!

Happy Birthday Love

Happy Birthday Josh!

I am so thankful for you on this day and always.

I can't imagine a more perfect best friend, soul mate, and dog dad!
You light up my days more than you will ever know.

I admire your hard work ethic and positive attitude.

What I want to tell you most of all on this day though is that I can't wait to grow old with you
& I can't wait to be your wife because you make me, me.

Love you babe!

Day 4!

{What is your favorite childhood memory?}

This isn't necessarily ONE memory, but one person who I shared a lot of memories with.

My big sister Eden was always my number one nemesis and also my number one supporter.

Growing up she spent her days screaming at me for all that I did wrong and then defending me to the death if anyone else dared to say anything the wrong way to me.

We shared lots of memories together.. Staying up late, playing games, swimming, playing Sega...

She has always been the best friend a girl could ask for. I am so lucky she is my sister and the biggest part of my childhood.

Gone Fishing

I spent my day off with my Dad this week. I woke up at the crack of dawn and went fishing with him. As you may have guessed, fishing really isn't my thing. I watched my Dad fish, started a new book and spent the morning chatting with my him.

 The weather was perfect.
Our conversations were even better.
As I get older and begin to start having my own family, I cherish my time with my Dad. I am a serious Daddy's girl and miss seeing him everyday like I did when I was little.

So, this fishing trip was simply, perfect.

Dreamin'

I dream of a house full of love, laughter, and babies.
I dream of a career that gives me the means to change the lives of children and to provide for myself and family financially so that the stress of bills doesn't exist.
I dream of growing old with my soon to be husband.
I dream of days that we spend relaxing and laughing with our family.
I dream of a family of our own that knows love like we were shown growing up.

I dream of constant smiles and only tears of joy.
I dream of a life that I know would make my dad proud.

What do you dream of?

How We Met..

One of my favorite bloggers Little Miss Momma has been telling her love story on her blog. She’s inspired me to tell how I met Josh.
Let's start with the beginning...

The first time I laid eyes on Josh was a hot August day. I was moving into my dorm on GVSU’s campus. I was in a fluster. I was trying to unpack my stuff, meet all the kids in my dorm, and make it to the school I was coaching at for pictures. It dawned on me that I needed to get the KEYS to my dorm, I was directed to another building. Standing in that building passing out some silly item was the cute RA from the second floor of our building. Little did I know then that, that was the boy I’d marry. I wish I could say there was a big A-ha moment, but there wasn’t. I’m sure I quickly just grabbed whatever it was that he was giving the new residents and left.
(That was the day!)
Freshman year went on like it did for most freshmen in college. I made lots of new friends, got dumped, ate lots of cafeteria food, spent a lot of time coaching, and struggled to keep up with homework. I even got a nice little job as a desk assistant for one of the other dorms. A job that I would give RA’s the “duty phone”. Low and behold I ended up having to create small chat with Josh on multiple occasions as he would come to the desk to pick up the phone. I even remember telling my cousin (who was my roommate) that the RA on the 2nd floor was just sooo cute! (Which I am also sure was a common saying coming out of my mouth about any good looking boy.)
At the end of the semester I decided to move home. But that’s not where the story ends..
